DSH-10 Mods

Just received my new DSH-10. It looks to be a real winner, but the Az movement definately needs help. What's the best fix for this? I've read about adding felt pads to increase the tension. How thick should the be? What about replacing the roller bearing entirely with the standard magic sliders and milk carton washers like on the old XT scopes?

Your experienced advice is welcome.

Thanks,
Dave

Hi Dave
I've heard of folks using both methods. I had one of the early gray tube DSH8" befor the roller bearings style and I replaced the crummy hard bearings pads in both axis with virgin teflon from Meridian Telescopes and they worked great. I was going to add the Ebony Star to the AZ but didn't need to.
Hope this helps

I have done the Mods to a friends 10" DSH and the bearing was removed and Teflon bearings added. Made a smoother and better moving scope.
The other mods I made can be seen in the picture.
