If I add a ED Barlow to my achromat refractor will it remove the blue halo? Dale

Dale,
Adding an ED barlow won't remove the blue halo but adding an 81B photographic filter will do the trick.

No, as noted. There is an optical devise called a Chromacor that will do a pretty good job of what you want (can alos be ordered to help over or under correction of the achromat lens). Never used one, and they are pretty expensive, but created a good buzz here a few years back.

Thanks you to all. A cheep refractor I have and that is what I will have to observe with. If I can not deal with a blue halo, I'll have to upgrade. Clear Skies Dale G. Smith
