I recently received a response to one of my classifieds from a person from another country. Does anyone have any experience with exporting their telescope parts that they are selling on Astromart?

I am especially interested in knowing if you found any rules or law that affects exporting telescopes and parts generally.

Yep, be careful, very careful. Many scammers overseas. I would only pay with PayPal or credit card. Otherwise I'd pass.

I have had a handful of transactions both purchasing and sales with people outside the CONUS.....and been fortunate not to have had any issues. That said you need to be VERY careful. I would not advise dealing with anyone who has little or no feedback and/or is very new to AM.....If the price seems to good to be true then it probably is. Also as already mentioned either use paypal or a credit card so you have a modicum of protection.
