Eyepiece quality question

Which eyepiece is of better quality?

A Meade Series 4000 Super Plossl multicoated.

Or a Meade Super Plossl multicoated which has Japan stamped on the barrel.

I appreciate any and all input.

I have the 20mm Super Plossl Japan and the 26mm 4000 and the 26mm is far better in a fast scope. The 20mm has so much pincushion, field curvature, that it is unusable in the f/4-4.8 scopes I have.

I've owned a 26mm SP eyepiece made in Japan and one that was made in Taiwan, I could see no difference in quality between the two eyepieces.
