Eyepiece questions

I have a C102 (Vixen) that has an 1.25 focuser and with it's f/10 focal ratio wondering if there is a mid priced eyepiece that will perform nearly as well as a 24 Panoptic? Also, I have the an 8" f/5 starbucket and was wondering if the 24 Panoptic will be good close to the edge of the fov in that fast of a scope? In general, will shorter focal length eyepieces in the same series, like a 13 mm Nagler, show less edge of field problems in a fast scope like the f/5 starbucket than longer focal length eyepieces like the 26mm Nagler? Thanks!

I can't answer the first part, although I should think at f/10 there are acceptable alternatives to the 24 pan.

As for your f/5 reflector questions, I would think the 24 pan would do fine at the edge of the field--my 27 pan certainly did--but the problem here is with the coma induced by the parabolic mirror, rather than any aberrations in the eyepiece. The wider the true field, the more coma you will see without a coma corrector; also, if you have any astigmatism in your observing eye, that will also show up as the exit pupil increases. With that understood, both the nagler T6 line and the 26T5 are very nice at the edge of field in my 16" f/5. But yes, you'll see less aberration at the edge of field in the shorter eyepiece, not because of the eyepiece, but because of coma from the mirror.
