Has anyone used this product? It seems that having a good artificial star would make collimation pretty simple. DR

Yes but it took a lot longer to get it than Chad said it would take. Also the hole was much larger than the advertised size whatever it was. To get it smaller if you want to star test the scope with well defined airy disks, you need to tape a small 4mm eyepiece or something like that in front of the hole and it works great. If you just want to collimate, that won't be necessary.

Get a $10 led flashlight with a pinhole in a piece of foil and there's your artificial star!
