Filter coating durability

On the contrary of eyepieces it seems the coating for filters (Lumicon, Orion, etc.) is not so durable.
What is the lifetime for filters as a rule considering the due care and regular use?
Thanks for any information.

I've been using some of the Lumicon filters for 13+
years; no problems yet. I think if you just handle
it carefully, blow the dust off now and then (blower
bulb or canned air), and keep it dry, you shouldn't
need to clean it more than every couple years. The
once or twice I've cleaned them, I just used same
method as any other lens.

I believe the Lumicon narrow band filters (OIII, etc.)
have the active coating completely enclosed in glass,
so they should be quite robust. But you should
probably be extra careful to use a minimum of
cleaning solution so it doesn't get inside the filter.
