I've just begun astrophotography with a Digital Rebel. Biggest challenge is focussing with the standard (dim)finder screen. I realize there are options including brighter screens and the Right-angle Canon finder. Any idea which is better? I saw one comment that the Right-angle finder magnifies the screen to produce a very coarse image, which may not help much in improved focussing. Any advice would be appreciated.

Try DSLR Focus, but realize that you have to have a computer hooked up. (Also, I find the product is still very buggy with my 20D.)
You can also try to snap a picture, call it up on the screen, and zoom in. Then adjust focus, and try again as needed.
The STI products work pretty well, but are expensive.
