I have a Celestron NexStar 8 GPS (carbon fiber tube) on which the GPS has quit linking. I have tried replacing the rechargable battery on the GPS circuit board and leaving it charging for several days, but still no luck. Does anyone have a spare circuit board for sale, or know of a source? I have already called Celestron, and also have spoken with Don Rothman at Astro Parts Outlet. Celestron said they might be able to fix it if I ship the scope to them, wait a long time and pay a lot of money (I'm paraphrasing here).
I can use the scope by manually entering the date, time and location every time I turn it on, but would prefer to have the GPS function working again.
Any help would be appreciated.
