Hello! I'm New!

Hello!

I am new to Astromart. I am looking to get my first Telescope. I don't honestly have a huge interest in Astronomy; although looking at the moon while getting ripped sounds pretty fun. I was given a vintage Velbon VGB-32C tri-pod, and after I cleaned it up, it's almost like new! So, I thought, I am decorating my house so I look like a pipe-smoking, world-traveler, Rudyard Kipling type of "Sir." And it occurs to me that an old school metal Telescope, mounted on that tri-pod might seal the deal with some fine young honey one night. Give me a "Science Man" vibe. 

Well, I was hoping some of you guys could recommend a budget option to me--that would actually work well--but be super impressive to the ladies. I'm talking smoking jacket, fake Gatling gun, awesome "science man" telescope, vintage vinyl Hi-Fi; the works! The telescope could be a real conversation starter when I throw heavy-metal vomit party's for my buddies. Thanks for any direction here. Help a young bro get "laid?"

P.S. I've only got about 250 bucks to throw at this little project. 

If your looking to get a telescope to get laid, your in the wrong hobby bro lol. Although, just having a nice functional telescope and having chicks look through it usually impresses them in my experience.      But what's going to to be more impressive is if you have a passion for something, maybe astronomy.    Trust me, no girl will be impressed with a telescope shaped decoration over one you could show them saturn's rings or the orion nebula in.     A celestron ambassador will sort of give you both, but that's out of your price range,. My recommendation would be to just get a 6 in dobsonian or similar that gives you the best view for your money, that's easy to point and find shit with, even if it doesn't look as cool, then take that and her out on a nice clear night with a star chart, (learn the night sky a bit and some of the showpiece objects beforehand) a bottle of wine, pack a fatty bowl, and show her the universe.    She'll be more impressed with that then some hokey decoration that barely functions and you have no idea how to use and gives shit views if you tried.

Amazing post. I recommend the bird Jones style telescope as they are very affordable, look sleek and sexy, and make a good conversation piece when wanting to bring up frustration and regret.
