Last week I ordered a 32mm eyepiece from Hardin Optical, and they sent me a catalog along with it. Ever since I have been drooling over the picture of the 10" dob. I currently have a 6" Orion. I was just imagining how much more I could see with the 10". I couldn't take the agony any longer, so I ordered it tonight. Does any one else have one of these, or have you looked through one? I hope it will be a good scope. I haven't heard anything negative about them.

You have chosen wisely
If the extra weight and bulk of the 10" are not an issue, you will be very, very happy. I say that because I almost crapped me drawers when I saw how big a 10" dob is. I will never forget that moment. I was going over to a nice fellow's house that had a Discovery 10" for sale. I met him in front of his house and we walked around back and when we rounded the corner, there was the 10 incher sitting in the garage. Holy macaroni, Batman! That is huge! Of course, it was replacing my XT4.5, 4.5" dob. so that was quite a leap in size. Now I think nothing of it and think it looks small. I need a bigger one
This is not a scare tactic, just a prep for when that rather large box shows up.
For more info, I would recommend a visit to my web site. Not because I am vane, but because there is a lot of info on these types of dobs (Synta and Guen Sheng) that I have collected over the past few months.
