Hi,

I am looking for a focusing system that could be used on many scopes such as a c11 and 80ed for astrophotography.
I know I may have focus travel problems but I can use extesion tube to solve such problem.

I am looking for a focuser with motors and that could be latter used with PC integration for autofocusing.

I have found the following options:

- JMI SCT EV-2cm (Motorized SCT)
http://www.jmitelescopes.com/images/ev_2cm.jpg
http://www.jmitelescopes.com/spec_ev.htm#EV-2

- 2" SCT Moonlight Focuser with DC motors
http://www.focuser.com/cgi-bin/dman.cgi?page=category&plugin=dstore.cgi&category=4

Both focusers have PC integration options and I believe that on both cases I could use the FCUSB Focuser control from Shoestring or the manufacturer option.

FCUSB da Shoestring

The moonlight have the MoonLite PC interface for motor focus for $ 139
http://www.focuser.com/cgi-bin/dman.cgi?page=productdetail&plugin=dstore.cgi&product=MF2

and JMI has the PC Focus Control $149,00
http://www.jmitelescopes.com/spec_motor_controls.htm#PC%20Focus%20Control

Both PC interface have ASCOM drivers.

I would like to know which option is better or if both options are not even close more expensive solutions such
as Robofocus or OPTEC.

Thanks in advance,
André
