Internal Reflections:HELP!

Hello All, could i please ask for some help?, lately i've been getting internal reflections from bright stars on all my astrophotos like the one below, regardless of what film or lens i use. Could this be due to my lens being set open too much or is there something within the slr camera body itself causing this problem?, i just can't get rid of it! Notice that all reflections are always pointing in the same direction, this is the same for all photos, it's only proportional to how bright the star is.

Thanks for your help!! Keith........

What changed between the time you weren't getting these reflections, and now (lately)? Did you start using a teleconverter? Put a skylight filter on the lens (or some other filter)? Change camera bodies?

Heres a couple guesses:

1) They look alot like filter internal reflections.
Are you using a UV or skylight filter?
Try another shot without the filter, or get a multi-
coated filter.

2) The vertical streak appearance of the reflections
is probably due to some vibration when the shutter is
tripped. Its also visible on the bright star images
themselves. You seem to get it at the very start and very
end of the exposure. Try covering up the front of the
lens with a large sheet of cardboard while you operate
the shutter release.

3) If it still persists, think about your scanner. Could
also be there. Get a magnifier and see if the streaks
are actually on the film or not.
