My dark skies behind my cottage are gone as of a week ago. My landlord installed 6 banks that I can see on the property of floodlights. Total overkill. You can read a book at 50 feet. My landlord is a big company.

The manager, told me the landlord's insurance company required it. ARRRRRRRGH!

Anyway, these are a combo that go on at night with motion sensors that turn on more lights. Other than BB guns, has anyone had any success fooling the sensors with lasers, flashlights, glow in the dark sticks, whatever.

I think this is fate telling you it's time to take the plunge and become a homeowner. :-)

Go to the International Darksky Association site an read up. There are many ways to handle this situation. The site should give you some good ideas.

You could go the wasted electricity route.

Good luck,

Probably you have to move.

If you have a lease, tell your landlord that his floodlight negligence breaks the lease, preventing you from receiving the full enjoyment of property you are paying for. Tell the landlord to explain that to the insurance company.

It won't get you anywhere, but you would be doing your part in providing the feedback.
