I have a Meade 5" reflecting telescope model 127NT/500 on a Meade LXD 300 Equatorial mount and I would like to put on a drive/goto system but am having a hard time finding the original parts and was wondering if I can use newer ones to convert it. I am a total newbie so sorry if this is not that good of a posting. Thanks!

Tina: First let me welcome you to Astromart. Not only will you have the opportunity to purchase some good equipment from reliable sellers at great prices but you will also find some folks that really know their stuff...
I know those older Meade drives are hard to find, one might come up if you keep your eye on the Astromart ads and you could also place a wanted ad and see if anyone has a drive for your mount.
If not, in the past some people have adapted Autostar drives to a variety of mounts. Hopefully someone will chime in with some more information about doing that...
I see you are located in Simi Valley. Fellow Astromarter Don Rothman has a large inventory of used astronomy equipment and he is not so far up the road in Fraiser Park.
