Every summer I take my 10"LX200GPS camping to enjoy the dark sky's. This year was pretty windy though and my luck ran out on not getting anything a the front lens (correcting plate). My question is the UHTC coating on the inside or outside of the lens and what do I need to clean it with. Usually I just get a little dust and use air but thats not going to cut it this time. THANKS for any help!

Coatings are bonded into the glass and it will take sandpaper to get them off. You can clean with a lot of different stuff including windex, but an exhaustive discussion and a link to Dr. Clay's sooper dooper mix is to be found in the document "How to Clean Your Corrector Plate" which is in the files of the Yahoo! sct-user group. Myself, I use Purosol these days. Look for it on the web. It's recommended by Astro-Physics.
Also look at the article here on Astromart called "Disassembly of an SCT: Child's play" for how to pop the corrector so you can clean it.

Of course, you aren't doing a disassembly. You're just popping the corrector plate. Easy.
