Meade 60mm Backpack Scope

I bought one of these a year or so ago and it works surprisingly well. However, it IS 60mm, so I am wondering how hard it would be to replace the ota with a Celestron 80mm f/5 ota that I have. The mount should be able to handle it no problem. Anyone ever taken one of these small Meade units apart?
Or am I just crazy? :-)

Pretty hard. IMHO, probably the best be is to leave the li'l guy as is. I have one, and on the deep sky (its real forte'), it really don't give up much to the 80.

I am with Uncle Rod on this one... but you might be able to graft the objective from the ETX-70 on to your OTA... I remember someone grafted the objective from an ST-80 a while back.

But personally I prefer the Nexstar 80GT...
