HELP. I am in the market to replace my LX-10 with a newer more automated used SCT. I want to get some GOTO functionality. Can anyone giver me the skinny on the differences between the LX-90 and the LX-200. There seems to be quite a difference in the used prices for these two scopes.
Thanks.

It depends somewhat on the vintage. This is what I can remember from 3 years ago:

The LX200 has a much heavier-duty fork mount, with about 2" more base clearance. It used larger gears, and its pointing accuracy was slightly better. I think it had a slightly higher max slew speed. It had manual slow-motion controls and a primary mirror lock. It's database was larger, for what it's worth. Its electronics had some other minor features such as periodic error correction on both axes I believe, SmartMount, and level/north sensors. It also came standard with an electric microfocuser and GPS. Some of this has since been added to the LX90. I just threw away my old product literature, but if I think of anything else I'll add it.
