Nagler Type 6 and Eye Relief Problem

Hello, I just purchased a 9 mm Nagler Type 6 eyepiece and might have a problem with the 12 mm eye relief. I don't wear glasses while observing but I have contact lenses (Bausch amd Lomb Tourics) that correct my nearsightedness and astigmatism. Even though I am a guy, I have pretty long eyelashes that brush the viewing lens of the 9 mm
Nagler and leave greasy marks all over it. I was inside my house (raining out) and put the eyepiece into my XT 10 Dobsonian and just tried to pan around the field. About a minute later, I checked the lens to discover oil marks all over. I tried the same just holding the eyepiece up to my eye and panning around with the same results of
a grease covered lens. I might have to sell the eyepiece and get a Pentax SMC XL 10.5 mm or something else in its place. I have a 27 mm Panoptic eyepiece that works fine and my eyelashes don't brush the lens because of the greater eye relief (19mm I believe). I was most likely blinking when trying to view through the eyepiece which might have caused all the streak marks. I might have to keep my eye open and pull back once in a while to blink. Also, what is the best way to remove these oil streaks? I have the Orion 6 piece cleaning kit with cleaning fluid, optical tissue, compressed air, ultra brush, etc... Any feedback/recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Bryan

How does the Nagler Type 6 line compare to the shorter focal length Pentax SMC XL line (5.2,7,10.5, 14 mm)??? I heard alot of great reviews of the Pentax SMC XL's with their 20 mm eye relief and eyecup. I don't really feel like trimming my eyelashes in the sense that it would look pretty strange so I have to think of another plan. I could attempt not to blink while observing through the type 6 naglers for viewing stints of about 30 seconds and then going back in to view. Any ideas would be appreciated!

Thanks, Bryan
