Need a formal written appriasal on Telescope

I'm handling my parents estate and need to get a formal written appraisal of my Dad's 1992 Starfire Telescope and all kinds of accessories. They are all in mint condition. As suggested in previous threads, I looked at the classifieds to get some notion of value but I really need written appraisal from an expert.

Hi Nancy:

I was told about this thread by one of my friends. The problem is that many of us know the values by looking at the classifieds, but we are not professional appraisers. I am not sure anyone qualifies as an expert, but from reading online I think you may someone who does this for a living to meet the legal requirements of the estate.

If you want an educated guess, I am happy to take a shot at it. Contact me via the private message system and I will give you my contact info.

Sincerely,

Derek Wong (I have run the Astro-Physics Yahoo groups for about 20 years).

Hi Nancy, I donated a very expensive scope to a school about 40 years (?) ago. My Tax Lady told me to get a professional appraisal. There was one locally who specialized in industrial equipment and he researched it. He also needed to look at the stuff. I got audited but was fine.
