Need help with C-9.25 focuser

I'm looking for someone that is familiar with the micrometer focuser used on the C9.25 OTA.

When the rectangular cover is removed from the focuser assembly, there is a small black lever on the counter assembly. Could someone tell me the purpose of the lever. I can send a digital picture if needed.

The reason that I removed the cover is because I heard something rolling around inside the OTA. I found the head of one of the screws broken off and rolling around the inside of the focuser. Luckily enough, it has not done any damage.

Thanks,
Jared

I am not familiar with this exact micrometer counting
system on the C9.25, but if it is like other digital
micrometer counters, the black lever will be a friction
lock that prevents rotation of the shaft. In one position
the shaft turns freely, in the other position the shaft
is locked.
