New scope decisions

Greetings to the Astromart crew...again. Back on after years away from here, and looking for a new scope. Had an 8" dobsonian but sold it years ago, just didn't get used enough.

So, been looking on the classifieds here, contacted a couple of local sellers.

Want something more portable than the dob, so small refractors and Cats like the Meade 125EX or Celestron Nexstar 6 or 8 have been where I've been going.

The seller with that TeleVue TV101 has got my attention, and the seller with the WO 80mm does too.

The TeleVue would be a major upgrade for sure, but not sure it's going to be as nice here in the light northern suburbs of Chicago.

Thoughts?

Thanks for the shared wisdom, been catching up.

Best regards,

John

What if you had an ultra-portable dob like this? http://newmoontelescopes.com/product/8%e2%80%b3-f-4-5/

Or 3-4" refractor on a simple alt-az mount ? Pictured Takahashi 78mm on Discmounts DM4
