Im trying to figure this out here... What is the differences in between a schmidt newt and a schmidt cass. Why is the cass so much more money than a schmidt newt? What is so different about them. Is the schmidt newt good for astrophotography or just for visual? Im just wondering due to the fact I have seen these for a good price and am thinkinf of purchasing one....

Hi Dan,
A SN usually has a faster mirror than most SC i.e the meade LXD SN are @ f/4 while my LX200 SC was f/10. This makes the SN give a more wide field of view than a SC. Somebody please correct me if I'm wrong but the correcter plate on the SN corrects the coma of the faster mirror.
