I have a nextstar 8, and can't seem to get it to slew accurately to closer than about a degree and a half of the actual object, unless it happens to be right near the alignment star.
Which factors are most important in getting a good alignment and to what degree:
leveling the tripod?
leveling the tube?
centering the alignment star at low vs high power?
2 star vs 1 star alignment methods?
How accurately you point toward north?
Any good ideas on how to get a good alignment would be welcome.
