I recently purchased a 10-inch F/4 premium mirror on Astromart from Waite Research to upgrade from a nice, mass-produced mirror from GSO. The GSO was an upgrade from the original mirror that had a badly over-corrected (~3/4-wave) mirror that came with the OTA. I had a chance to do some Foucault-grams of both mirrors where the difference in smoothness is apparent. The GSO has served me well for several years - it's a great value for the money spent. I'm looking forward to using the Waite mirror and initial views are showing improved contrast over the GSO. Still waiting for steadier skies to show how the Waite mirror works at higher powers, but it looks encouraging so far!
