Quick inexpensive mount??

I am wondering about a fairly inexpensive mount for a TMB 100/800. I want something that is quick and easy. I already own a G-11 but that will be mounting my C-11 scope. I would like to have them both set up together. Is it possible to set them both up together on the G-11? I know Losmandy makes a dovetail for two scopes, will this work for the TMB/C-11 combo? Or how about piggybacking the TMB on the C-11, is this possible? The TMB is pretty big, about 21 pounds.

Nothing in education is so astonishing as the amount of ignorance it accumulates in the form of inert facts.

Michael,

If you were to mount both on the G-11 I would recommend going side-by-side rather than piggyback.

That's a lot of weight to put that far from the axis...and just think of the counterweight required to offset it!

I put a TV-76 piggyback on my C8. The TV-76 only weighs about 6 or 7 lbs and requires me to add a 15# counterweight a few inches below the weight needed for the C8 alone.

Just my $0.02,
Forrest

I would second Forrest's comments. The side by side setup will be much better for the heavier TMB. I don't have a pic of it but I use this setup for my C8 and guide scope. I have also used it for a TV-85 and guide scope setup in the past. Works quite well and is pretty impressive looking too. :-)
