Is there anyway to tell, other than field testing, if my
CG-4 motor and controller box would drive a different mount at correct tracking speed? I have a Meade 395 small mount and want to motorize it.

The CG-4 has 144 teeth on the RA main gear so your motor should turn at 1/6 RPH (1 revolution every ten minutes). You can verify if your Meade 395 mount has the same number of teeth on the RA gear by seeing how many turns the RA slow motion knob takes to move the mount 1 hour in RA. If it's a number other than 6, you'll need a different motor.
