Personally, I think TeleVue is doing a hell of a job making high quality ep's. Having said that, I think we should all be thanking AP for not making ep's. Let me explain further. We already have tough enough choices when it comes to picking the right telescope, mount, etc. Most people drive themselves crazy trying to decide what to buy. Now, imagine a scenario in which AP started making ep's. Total mayhem I tell you. This would be a typical message on this board:

"Should I get the 17mm Type 4 Nagler or should I spend the extra $50 on the 16mm AP(85 degree FOV)? Is the 6 month wait worth it for the 16mm AP? What about the 21mm AP? Should I just get this one instead? It's only $150 more and the wait is only 3 months. What about the 16mm Type 5 Nagler? Somebody told me they like the 16mm Nagler better than the 16mm AP."

Now here would be the response:

"It's a tough call. Don't forget AP is coming out with a brand new 17mm ep in a few months. It is supposed to be better than their current 16mm. And Tele Vue is releasing a new 17mm in a few weeks. It's hard to believe Tele Vue can improve on the 17mm Type 4 Nagler, but apparently they have. This new TeleVue 17mm ep is getting rave reviews. The 16mm Type 5 Nagler is also a fantastic ep."

Response to that response:

"Oh crap. I give up. This is just too hard and I'm just too tired. I quit."
