Refractor Objective Lens Brush

My searches have left me saying "is that all there is?" in terms of good quality objective lens brushes.

A little thinking outside the box lead me to this...

Comments on suitability for removing dust from a TEC140 or similar size lense?

I have heard others talk of using a make-up brush with good results. I bought a nice brush at an artist supply that was very soft and long hairs that works well too.

Leave the dust alone or blow it away with a rubber blower.

I've been using a simular makeup brush from IIRC a Channell makup brush kit. It has a black handle and dark brown to black hair. I rinse it when I think it needs it and give it a bath with a drop of Dawn dish soap and a lot of water then shake and let dry. I do use a bulb first to blow anything loose then the brush. I've been very happy with it and using it on my refractor and reflector scopes. Check out a good dept. store with a lot of makeup counters and you should be able to find makeup brushes.

I made a trip to the local drugstore. The cosmetician was very helpful. She swiped my arm with the brush just to show me how soft it was....

I almost bought the whole stock.....


I ended up with a goat "chin" hair powder brush for $20.
