I'm a newbie to this forum, and really fairly new to astronomy. I bought an Atlas EQ-G mount and a C6R 6" refractor back in July 08. The mount, I believe, is still a great platform for photography, but quite honestly, I'm tired of the C6R. So the question is.... What scope would serve me best for 80% photography use, 20% visual use, and a price range of ~$1200. Also, bear in mind that I've purchased an Orion 80ED and Orion's autoguider. Thanks for any advice!

The C6R is not really a scope well suited for astrophotography, the ED-80 has produced many fine photographs. Put the Autoguider on the C-6R, the camera on the ED-80 and have some fun.
