Scopestuff focusers for Orion / teflon bearings

I started a thread recently asking for recommendations for a replacement focuser for an Orion XT8. I got some good ones, but I found what looks like some really nice crayfords with compression ring holders on the Scopestuff web site. The price for these focusers looks very reasonable and they have versions made specifically for Orion telescopes.

Does anyone have experience useing these focusers? They look like they might be the way to go.

As an aside, does Orion use teflon on the alt bearing cradle on the telescope mount? Looks more like nylon or something to me. I guess I could put some Ebonystar on the alt bearing on the telescope. I'm going to be looking to make some improvements to this telescope, maybe going as far as building a new mount.

I don't think it is true Teflon, but it works OK. The best thing is to put a strip of Ebony Star around the Alt Bearing, I did this and it worked great. I glued it to the plastic and just used 2 small screws, one on each end to hold it in place until the glue dried. I also wrapped around the circumference with masking tape until it dried, works like a charm and very smooth. You could replace the pads too, but you might find you don't need to with the Ebony Star.
Add some braces to stiffen the mount, that will do well without a complete replacement.
Not sure about the focuser, but it is probably just fine. They have the two speed ones now for not a lot of money, all made in China I believe, but they work just fine.
