Solar Observing Refractor or my Dob

Hi, I'm fairly new to solar astronomy and i'd love to get into it. I'd like to start off by buying a basic glass solar filter for one of my two telescopes: GSO 8" Dob and a Stellarvue NG 80mm refractor. Which of the two telescopes would yield the best view of the sun, and be the best to buy a solar filter for?

Thank you so much,

I'm curious about this too. I just bought the little 90mm Orion Mak. I plan to upgrade to a bigger Dob latter this year. I wonder which would be the best scope for the filter. It certainly would be cheaper to get the filter for the Apex, so I'm leaning that way.

My personally approach would be to get a filter for the refractor. Solar observation is generally done at low magnifications and one is not hurting for light. The ease of use of a small refractor makes it handy for solar observation...
