Anybody know if the Starbeam w/ flip mirror is useable in daylight? Thanks...

Hi Ed
Mine does. It is a red dot finder just like red dot rifle scopes. The red dot is projected on a flat clear lens, so if you can see the target you just set the red dot in it and shoot or look. I guess if the target were very bright or red it might be hard to pick up the dot, but I've not had any problems.

In full daylight it is hard to see the red dot. But, here's what I do. I cover the front lens of the Starbeam with my palm and locate the red dot, then I flip my palm off and on so you can see both the red dot and where you want to point alternatively. Hope that is clear enough...it works.

Don't forget to turn the battery switch off when you are done, this is not a Telrad, the juice drains quickly if left on.

It's a very very nice zero power pointer and is tops in ergonomics to use, but I just do not like the base attachment too much.
