Starfinder Equatorial Mount

I plan on turning my old 10" Starfinder Equatorial into a dob after I get my new scope. I won't have a use for the old mount (see picture). The mount has a 26# weight and will track as well. I'll probably put it in the classifieds in a couple weeks (no offers from this post pleasesmile). Does anyone have a guess of how much something like that might be worth? I bought the whole scope for $879+shipping a few years ago. I don't want to ask too much for it, but yet I'd like to get a fair share as well. Thanks!

Three years ago, I tried to sell my Starfinder 10 EQ. I was asking $550 for it. I got no offers.

I got a few offers for $250 to $300 for the tube, etc. as long as I was willing to keep the mount.

SOmebody (Wanted ad on Astromart) asked to buy the mount itself for $275. I think it was a fair price. I sold it and kept the tube--to make a dob or something. (It is now my imaging tube on a G-11). I've since seen them at RTMC and think that you would no longer get $275 for it--but maybe.

I would guess for most things I would rather have a CG-5 than the Meade mount, and CG-5's go for about $300. THe MEade mount would be more stable, but the CG-5 has the declination adjustment, and can be motorized. It is easier to set up, too.

Hope this helps.
