Stolen Telescopes!!

Hi all. Checking the astromart site, it looks like this is the forum I would post a message about my stolen telescopes.

I live in the San Bernardino, CA area. A couple of nights ago, my garage was broken into, and my two telescopes were stolen.

One is a modified 8" Meade Starfinder, painted green. It has a crawford type focuser. Near the mirror end of the tube, in silver paint, it says " Gail**** "

The second scope is a stock 6" Orion black eq. reflector. Each piece is engraved with "P J Rogers."

If anyone has any information, please contact me!! Thank you for your time. Reward offered for their return.

Gail, it would be wise to keep in touch with whatever pawnshop squads your local police departments have. A few years ago several of my scopes were stolen by "amateur" thieves who had no idea what they were taking, except they looked valuable. Unable to sell the scopes to their regular fences, they had the brilliant idea of going to the local pawnshop, where an alert clerk called the cops--amazingly, I got my scopes back! I really don't know how many "pro" thieves there are out there, but scopes can be hard to get rid of among the drug crowd.
