Suggestions on a 3x Barlow

I need to squeeze some more magnification out of my Vixen 6" f/5 Newt while maintaining eye relief, and my 2x Ultima barlow alone isn't enough any more with my mid-range (12.5 mm Ultima and 9 mm UO ortho) eyepieces.

A Tele Vue 3x is unfortunately out of my price range at this time. Any recommendations on other good 3x barlows, including shorties? Thanks for the feedback.

I have an Orion Ultrascopic, which I think is similar. Have you tried adding a diagonal between the barlow and the eyepiece? I think that is supposed to get you close to 3x. I also have both a 1.25"-.965" and a .965-1.25" adapter. When I put both in, stacked as an extension tube, I get a bit more magnification too. This might not be what you are looking for, but it's worth a try.
