Does any body have an experience with taking apart a CI-700, I sent it four times to Celectron for repair but they failed. When the DEC clutch is completely loose the slow motion knob can be rotated counterclockwise but not clockwise, strangely when the DEC clutch is slightly tighten this problem is gone, but than the DEC axis stacks causing slippage of the DEC's slow motion clutch.Strangely when I tightened the mounting plate to the DEC disk with a high torque it partially solved the problem but it is noticeable that the DEC engine is heavily loaded when rotating. Thanks in advance for any help in solving the problem or in taking apart the mount

Shay,

Welcome to the world of Celestronomy. The CI-700 is a good mount if you get past some of it's quirks. It sounds like you are having some issues with the worm gear spacing and maybe the setting of the pressure plate screws. When the spacings are wrong it will bind up. Send me a private message with an email address and I will send you all the material I have on the CI-700. I would suggest doing the simplest things first to see if that solves your problems. Tearing down a CI-700 requires a lot of care and some specialized tools.

Cheers

Joe
