Hi, I am having diffulty finding something to take my 10" LX200gps in and out of my garage. I did find the "ScopeBuggy" by http://www.scopebuggy.com, thread at http://www.cloudynights.com/item.php?item_id=29&pr=99
It looks great and easy to use but it's $265 plus s/h.. But I was looking for something less expensive. Any suggestions? If someone has a scopebuggy, please tell me about it. Maybe $265 is not bad when you have a $3500 scope.

Make your own, the parts are available in most towns. You can also just modify a golf bag carrier that you can usually find in a second hand store.

I use the JMI wheeley bars for my 14". I traverse over an uneven stone surface and they are great. You can get larger wheels for more uneven surfaes. Can't remember the price but I am sure it was much cheaper tha $265.

Whatever dolly you choose or build, you may also need a ramp to get it out of your garage or shed. My garage has a 1-3/4" lip (to keep the rain out) that is too far to let the mount drop when moving it out of the garage.

Before you invest any cash, check the forum archives under "wheelie bar". I asked the same question about 18 months ago and received a number of replies with pictures on how to create a buggy or wheelie bar. For example, you can create an attachment from an inexpensive freght dolly or build a wheelie bar out of lumber. That's what I did for my LX90 for about $20 in materials. You don't have to be a Norm Abrahams, master carpenter on "This Old House" to put together one of these things.

Try the MAPUG site.

Go to the member designs. There are quite a few versions of a scope transporter. I have an 8" LX200. I made mine out of 2 x 4's with over sized 3/4 plywood gussets on the top and bottom over the t joint. The top one serves as a shelf to store my power supply, iso pads, and dew shield. I just used 3 " casters for wheels. I also put in leveling carrage bolts in the ends. I spent $25.00 total and it works great.
