Need ideas or sources on how to mount a Celestron 4" f/9 refractor on either of the subject mounts. Discussions with TeleVue and others has shed no new light. Has anyone out in the equipment world experienced this or have constructive ideas? Appreciate any help...Thank you!

Ed:

For my Orion 80ED, I obtained a pre-drilled mounting plate from Stellarvue (about $20) and bought rings purchased from Orion (about $20) to mount the scope on my Panoramic mount.

Ed, I'd really go with something other than the Panoramic for a 4" telescope. It's OK for my Ranger or a Pronto, but I saw a TV Genesis mounted on one once, & it was really undermounted.

Nevertheless, the easiest way would be to mount your rings about a foot apart, on a piece of hardwood. Then drill a couple of holes in the hardwood, the proper distance & attach it to the Panoramic head. DR

I know of three mounting plates that will work:

Stellarvue
Losmandy GM-8 Universal plate
Astro-Physics 7" (SB0800)

Mount your rings to one of these plates and these plates are drilled to mount to a TV head. BTW--The Losmandy and Astro-Physics plates can be purchased from Anacortes.
