Time for all of us to do our part in supporting AstroMart

I'm posting this on Equipment Talk since this is the biggest and most popular thread on AstroMart and maybe the most eyeball's will see it. As many of us, especially those of us who play the stock market know, we've watched literally thousands of websites have to shut down due to operating costs. Operating a site like AstroMart has to be costing Herb and Anacortes Telescope & Wild Bird (www.buytelescopes.com)a whole bunch of money on a monthly basis.

Everyone who uses AstroMart needs to stop and think of what it would be like to not have AstroMart as a place to buy, sell & trade astro products, not to mention all the new friends we've met here. I urge everyone of us to, at the very least, start off as a Purple Supporter to help keep this site going for years to come. That is a very small price to pay considering what we all get by using this site. It is the least we can all do to show our appreciation to Herb and his fine group of employees for taking the time to keep this place running so smoothly. I just hope this doesn't embarrass Herb and that he doesn't delete this message. It is important enough to get out to the masses. I don't think any of us want to wake up one morning and find out there is no more Astromart. Think about it and do what you can to support AstroMart.

I would like to second Mike's comments. It is interesting to note that some of the many "atta boys" that Herb gets for the Astromart site come from folks who offer no financial support. If everyone who has not offered support would just do so for 1 month/year or 1 quarter/year it would go a long way towards maintaining this fantastic site.

I don't mean to sound ignorant here, but how can I make a contribution? I mean, I don't think I'll ever have anything to sell, but I'm more than happy to pitch in where I can!

I haven't sold much on here (bought more), but I try to reward supporters/sponsors if I can - upgrade shipping, send before check clears, ... anything to make it easier and faster.

If they support AM, I'm pretty confident they're good people and not going to stiff me. I haven't been wrong so far!

Hi there,

this is a very uncommon concept for people where I am from. But I like the idea.

Can you tell in one sentence: what is the difference of a supporter and a sponsor...?

Thanx
