Tripod for Spotting Scope?

Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced tripod for a spotting scope weighing 3 pounds? A friend of mine recently acquired a 65mm scope and is looking for a suitable tripod. Any assistance is appreciated.

The biggest mistake customers make on spotting scope mounts is getting one too light and unstable.
Celestron sells one that is about the minimum.

Manfrotto is choice number one with a 128 fluid head

We sell several a week of the 055s

Thanks, Herb, I own a Manfrotto 3130 head on a 3011 tripod. Something like that is probably a bit of overkill for a 3-pound scope, but she had the opportunity to try it out on my set up, so she has an idea of how things are supposed to work. I'll convey the information.smile
