tripod leg hardware

I am fairly new to astronomy, and own a Meade refractor. The mount has many issues to deal with, but the worst of all is the short tripod legs. Are there any sources for tripod leg hardware out there? I am well capable of fabricating anything I might need to, but it would be easier if I could purchase clamps and tips for the lower legs if I build a taller set for the mount. Any tips would be appreciated.
