Where should the tube rings be placed to properly hold a refractor? Or does it really matter? Should the rings be close together or as far apart as possible? I have a TMB 100/800 CNC OTA that I will be mounting on a universal dovetail plate (Losmandy) to mount on a G-11. The dovetail plate has numerous holes so I am wondering which ones to use.

The further they are apart the more stable and less prone to flexture it will be.
