Has anyone used both? The TV website says that the Big Barlow cannot be used with diagonals ... true? Thanks.

I've used the Big Barlow and the 2" 4x Powermate.
The Big Barlow works with diagonals, though it
will need alot of focus travel either in or out
depending on whether it goes after or befor the
diagonal. (Maybe it does not work with TV scopes?)
Powermate does not have this problem; it behaves
much closer to a normal eyepiece in terms of
focus travel requirements.
