Just want some input on how well University Optics primary mirrors compare with the more expensive mirrors made. I'm thinking of replacing the 6" f8 mirror of my Orion dob. It performs well so do you think it's worth it? Thanks in advance.

But, to answer your question, the UO mirrors are made by, and identical to, Discovery.

I have a UO 12.5" mirror. I also have an Orion 10" XT-10 and the 6" f/8 XT-6. I would just leave it alone if I was you. Orion optics are good for the money. Plus the fact an f/8 mirror is easier to make than an f/5, so the odds you have a major error in your primary is slim. UO / Discovery mirrors are nice. I doubt I'll be replacing mine with a Zambuto or Swayze anytime soon, although I do think about it now and then... 8)
