Hello out there, I have a 4" F9 Vixen fluorite refractor made for Orion, purchased in the mid to late 90's. I would like to replace the whole back end as the Vixen "green" focuser assembly suffers from slop and the sags when I use a CCD or DSLR on it. Has anyone out there have any ideas? It is a great little scope. Thanks, John H cwy

Hi John:

If you don't mind spending a few bucks (quite a few actually), it looks like Moonlite Focusers has an adapter for your optical tube:

With Moonlite, you order an entire new focuser with appropriate adapter and mount it to your scope. It's as simple as that. I have one on my solar scope and it is very robust.
