I have an AP 600E mount with the stepper motor drive. It calls for 12vdc but I would like to make a highly portable power source using the commonly available Lithium battery packs from a portable power tool setup. I have a Ryobi 18v system but am concerned that the voltage may be too high. Would I be better served to go with a 12 to 14 volt source?

Call Astrophysics, the AP900 can take 18v no problem. But best to ask them about it. smile

18 volts will work fine.
