what's on your nexstar mount?

Hi.
I'm interested in what people have on their nexstar mounts....with a few adapters out there, i'm curious what kinds of OTAs people got on there. I know the baader ones are for the smaller nexstar mounts and probably can't hold more than 8-10 pounds tops. but ray's mount system works on the n5/n8 mount which makes me wonder? what kinds of things have people got on their n8 mounts or n60s for that matter? any mn57s mounted on that goto system? that would be COOL!

What a thought!

The Nexstar mount can actually do very well, but one needs to adjust the clutch bolt and balance to have it handle lots of mass.

I've just got a stock nexstar 8. But the following should help give you an idea of what weight and OTA length it could handle...it has a dew ring/shield, Ray's brackets, Siebert 2" binos, Everbrite Diagonal Rich field kit... and we've plopped 2 32mm eyepieces and an OIII filter on the bino.

The clutch started slipping near zenith with a pair of Nagler 26's... but I'm betting that if I snugged up the clutch nut for that configuration it would've handled it with ease.

It's been operating many hours under this configuration and I'm not seeing any wear/stripping. Knock on wood.
