Gerald,
It is true that I have a good selection of quality EPs. Yes they did cost quite a lot, but they are an investment in my Astronomy.
I have owned a lot of not so good EPs in the past. I have bought and sold quite a few here over the last 3 years. 8) I am pretty happy now with my collection.
I have just sold two Dobs of different size and focal ratio that needed differing focal length EPs. I still have the NS8GPS and the 14.5" Starmaster and they are totally different scopes with different needs in EPs. The same is true for the new ZZ-10 I am having built by Starstructure. This was the reason for the 24mm Panoptic purchase recently. I need some lighter EPs for the ZZ-10 for balance reasons.
I do try others to see how they work compared to the best for my own curiosity. Everyone would like to find a 60-70° FOV EP that was under $120 and gave excellent images. I just can not seem to find that many in that price range.
As for the Barlow, it was part of a package deal and I got it before I built up the collection. I did use it more before the collection was complete. I have been contemplating selling it recently however. Just can not seem to part with it as it is such a good Barlow.
The 22mm Nagler is too redundant to the 20mm Nagler and the 24mm Panoptic, so I have not gotten that one.
I assure you that I have spent more on the scopes than I have on the EPs.
I bet you have a few TV EPs stashed in you box too.
