Hi,
I am in the market for some new eyepieces and Orion's Stratus Wide Field line caught my eye. Anyone using them? Comments?

I have the 13mm and 21mm and like them alot. There was a very good review of the stratus eyepieces on either this website or www.Cloudynights.com.

I have the 8mm, 13mm and 21mm. For the price, I think they are tremendous value. I use them on my XT6 Dob and my LX200 8" Classic (F6.3). They are pretty much tack sharp, except perhaps in the last 5-10% of the field of view. Then again, I look at objects in the center of the field of view anyway so I don't get bothered by outer edge performance (this differs from observer to observer).

Last year I bought the 17 to try one out and it quicky became my favorite eyepiece. I liked it so much I bought the 21 and the 13, the 8 is on my "want" list.

I'm using them in my refractors and my 12" lx200 Schmidt. I've found them to be "comfortable" eyepieces. Light transmission is very high and they have great contrast. In my scopes the stars are very sharp. On bright stars in the big scope there is no glare on axis although if you get the bright star just out of the field there's some faint reflections. Ther're as sharp on the planets and moon as any eyepiece I've got.

I think they are a great value and give them a 2 thumbs up.
